Engineering Department

The Water Authority of Dickson County Engineering Department is pleased to meet the customer’s needs, from the earliest planning of a project to the retirement of pipe. Below are printable forms that are commonly needed by the engineering department, including the requirements for water and sewer details.

SERVICES

From planning in the office to supervising and working in the field, the engineering department is involved with many phases of projects. In order to prevent any water or sewer issues during building and beyond, the engineering team meets with new developers to review their construction plans for design feasibility. The engineering department coordinates with the construction crew to ensure pipe is laid accurately. Technicians operate GIS and GPS equipment in the field to survey the water and sewer system. Accurate maps are maintained by entering the collected data into computer design software. The engineering department measures and calculates costs for new line extensions. Staff also coordinates with local government in ways such as city planning meetings and obtaining easements.
